Addressing members of media in National Press Day, PM Modi said that role of media in the country has been immense. Prime Minister said, “We remember how the press council ceased to exist during the Emergency. Things normalised after Morarji Bhai became PM.” He added that Press is responsible for upholding free speech. PM Modi also lauded the role played by media to further the message of cleanliness across the country.
