Narendra Modi meets PM, talks about plight of Indians in Australia

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with a demand to declare the Sardar Sarovar project a national project.

Modi also held deliberations with Singh on the attacks on Indian students in Australia. He later met Australian High Commissioner John McCarthy.

Modi, who had a 30-minute meeting with the Prime Minister at his official residence, discussed several issues related to the state, officials said.

The Chief Minister apprised Singh that Gujarat had made rapid strides in the field of agriculture and has emerged as the top state in the country.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi praised Women's Squash Team on winning Bronze Medal in Asian Games. Shri Modi congratulated Dipika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa, Anahat Singh and Tanvi for this achievement.

In a X post, PM said;

“Delighted that our Squash Women's Team has won the Bronze Medal in Asian Games. I congratulate @DipikaPallikal, @joshnachinappa, @Anahat_Singh13 and Tanvi for their efforts. I also wish them the very best for their future endeavours.”
