Exposing the Congress’ ineptness in addressing issues of national importance, yet its efficiency in sweeping off the country’s assets at the cost of development, was the highlight of Shri Narendra Modi’s speeches at the Bharat Vijay rallies at Mandla and Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, on the afternoon of 28th March.
Questioning the sky-high arrogance of the Congress that reflected in their irresponsible actions and unaccountable behaviour, Shri Modi spoke of how the Congress party had showed incompetence in fulfilling their promises, and addressing the grave concerns of inflation, corruption, unemployment and poverty. “Shahzada came to MP. He met women but did he say a thing on rising prices? He said in 2009 that we will reduce prices in 100 days. People voted for them in 2009, they formed a government but what happened, did prices fall? No, prices only increased. The Election time is on but no Congress leader is willing to answer or talk about rising prices. Do they come to answer you? Nothing has been left. They have looted the people. Should they not answer about corruption? Those who don't believe in democracy, they and their leaders can't serve people. Such irresponsible thought process will only ruin this nation & that is why we have to fulfil dream of Congress Mukt Bharat,” affirmed Shri Modi, as he further stated how this incompetence and unreliable approach had destroyed the democratic fabric of the country.
Shri Modi condemned the Congress’ lack of empathy towards the underprivileged sections of the society, especially the Tribal community, even as he reinforced the BJP’s focus on ensuring the welfare of all sections of the society. “For the development of India no section of society can remain behind. Every section of the society must develop. But the Congress never remembered the Tribal communities because they have been immersed in votebank politics. Despite being in Government for 50 years, the Congress never remembered the Tribal communities. It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji who created a ministry for them. BJP Governments are doing wonderful work for the tribal communities in every sphere be it education, agriculture or providing employment. No other Government can match the work done by all the BJP governments for tribal welfare. Shivraj ji has made a place in the hearts of tribals. MP's popular CM is devoted to the service of the poor, and our Government in Delhi will also be devoted to the welfare of tribal communities,” stated Shri Modi, while further adding that such responsible behaviour had earned Shri Shivraj Chouhan the honour of being considered a family member by every tribal family, an achievement that no Congress leader could match. He also applauded the foresightedness of Shivraj Chouhan, and mentioned how by giving due importance to varying sectors like education, health, agriculture, employment and infrastructure, Shivraj ji had brought out Madhya Pradesh from being a ‘bimaru rajya’ to a progressing state. Shri Modi affirmed that if Shivraj ji alone could bring such revolutionary change, the BJP government at the Centre and the State could make wonders happen to Madhya Pradesh and India.
Shri Modi also recalled how, during the elections in Madhya Pradesh in December 2013, Shivraj ji had gone from door-to-door and shared with the people his development works, along with disclosing the updates on the promised plans that lay pending. This accountability, Shri Modi stated, was missing in the Congress government who were least bothered to answer the queries of the citizens, and put forth the record of work done by them in the last decade. Stating forth the rampant corruption prevalent in the system, Shri Modi spoke of how, under the Congress rule, hospitals and doctors were registered on paper, rather than being operational.
Terming the Congress Party’s Manifesto as ‘Dhokha Patra’, Shri Modi spoke of how they had failed in fulfilling their promises, and had instead caused a saddening state for the farmers and soldiers. Recalling Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji’s slogan of “Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan”, Shri Modi stated that with the incessant killings of soldiers on the border and mass suicides by farmers, under the Congress rule, it seemed that the Congress mantra was of “Mar Jawaan. Mar Kisaan.” He expressed shock at how the Pakistani PM was fed ‘chicken biryani’ on his visit to India, even as scores of Indian soldiers were being killed by the Pakistani troops on the border.
Emphasizing on the significance of the Federal system in a democratic setup, Shri Modi reinstated that for the economy to prosper, the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers should work together and thereby ensure that the Nation moved forward with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. “I can understand Shivraj Chouhan’s pain. Delhi cannot discriminate between states. Both must work together, all are equal,” stated Shri Modi.
Shri Modi urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to vote for the BJP in 2014 Elections and send all ‘Lotuses from the state to Delhi’. This, he said, would fulfil the dream of a ‘Bhavya and Divya Bharat’. He spoke of how the time had come to understand the true colours of Congress, which, with its ‘Hand’ had only focused at wiping away the Nation’s assets, and filling their own pockets. Shri Modi affirmed that the new Government in Delhi should not be for name-sake but rather should have the ability to wipe out the mis-governance witnessed in the past 60 years. Urging the people to check the track record of governments who have ruled in the past, Shri Modi affirmed that development was at its best during the BJP reign. Terming the BJP period as ‘Swarnim Karyakaal’, Shri Modi stated that this affirmation of the party’s focus on development was reinforced by the consecutive re-election of BJP in states like Gujarat, MP, Rajashtan, Chhattisgarh and Goa.
Giving a clarion call for a Congress Mukt Bharat, Shri Modi stated that the ‘Bharat Vijay’ rallies were an attempt to win over the vices of inflation, corruption, unemployment, misgovernance, poverty and ensure the welfare of farmers and women.
Praising the land of Mandla as the land that symbolized victory over injustice, Shri Modi remembered Mata Durgavati and spoke of how Gujarat and Mandla shared a special bond since both regions received water from the Narmada river.
