A renowned Bollywood musician Ismail Darbar met Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Friday at his residence. He expressed his desire to be a part of the political forum in his hometown, Surat. He described the growth of Gujarat as the topmost one and said that he is impressed with the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister.

Darbar expressed his commitment to work for the service of the nation through the medium of BJP and said that his meet with the Chief Minister will remain as one of the best memories of his life. He said that Shri Modi’s personality and his thoughts on the development of the nation are that of a great national hero.

Talking about his meeting with Shri Modi, he mentioned, ‘Yes, I met Modiji, at his residence, in Gandhinagar. I expressed my desire to be a part of the BJP. He welcomed me into the party. He offered his unconditional support to all my efforts for the betterment of Gujarat. I have always wanted to do something for people in Surat’

'The kind of respect Shri Modi offered me in a cordial atmosphere was beyond my imagination', he said adding that Chief Minister’s good wishes will act as a source of inspiration for him in the service of people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation today with His Excellency Mr. Matemela Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa.

The two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation, which is anchored in historic and strong people-to-people ties. Prime Minister thanked the South African President for the relocation of 12 Cheetahs to India earlier this year.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in BRICS in the context of South Africa’s chairmanship this year.

President Ramaphosa briefed PM on the African Leaders’ Peace Initiative. Noting that India was supportive of all initiatives aimed at ensuring durable peace and stability in Ukraine, PM reiterated India’s consistent call for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward.

President Ramaphosa conveyed his full support to India’s initiatives as part of its ongoing G20 Presidency and that he looked forward to his visit to India.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.
