The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, spoke to the Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, over telephone this evening, and reviewed the situation arising out of the stampede in Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The Prime Minister has condoled the loss of lives in the incident. He has sanctioned Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the critically injured, from the Prime Minister`s National Relief Fund.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lauded the passing of amendments proposed to Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act 1948 in Rajya Sabha today. He remarked that it was an important legislation which will boost energy security and also contribute to a prosperous India.

Responding to a post on X by Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Shri Modi wrote:
