We have a clear vision of building a ‘New India’, a country that is strong, transparent and provides equal and ample opportunities for all its citizens: PM Modi in Nanded
The corrupt middlemen Congress regimes helped to escape are being brought back to justice now: PM Modi
While your vote in 2014 helped give a strong response to terror, your vote in 2019 will contribute in eliminating terror: Prime Minister Modi

Following the address of three huge election rallies in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, PM Modi addressed his last rally for today in the Maharashtrian city of Nanded.

Speaking at length about his vision of ‘New India,’ PM Modi said, “We have a clear vision of building a ‘New India’, a country that is strong, transparent and provides equal and ample opportunities for all its citizens. The double-engine growth of a BJP government in Maharashtra as well as a BJP government in the Centre has been creating new stories of development everyday. This double-engine growth is extremely important to realise our vision of ‘New India’ and the people of Maharashtra fully understand this and will certainly support us in fulfilling their aspirations.”

Questioning the stand of Congress and its allies like NCP about national security, PM Modi said, “Everybody knows our vision of ‘New India.’ But can we say the same about the Congress-NCP combine? Not only this, one of their partners in Kashmir wants two Prime Ministers in the country. I want to ask the Congress and its allies if they support such statements. This shows the true face of the Congress and its partners. All they want is to weaken India and its national security through any means possible. Even the Congress manifesto reflects this as the Congress hqs promised to remove AFSPA in Kashmir if it comes to power after these elections. Is such a party coming to power is acceptable to the people of Nanded and the country. Never. The people will never put their trust in such political parties again.”

Bringing his power-packed address to a close, Prime Minister Modi reminded the people of the numerous scams done under the Congress regimes and highlighted how his government had worked overtime since the last five years to bring such criminals to justice. He added, “The middlemen that were helped by the Congress to escape after such huge scams have been brought back to the country due to our consistent efforts. These middlemen have started to name senior Congress leaders of the family and members of their so-called ecosystem. The people have been repeatedly betrayed by the Congress and its allies by their endemic corruption and divisive politics. I am certain that they will not enjoy the support of the people of Maharashtra who have witnessed transparent and strong growth with the BJP governments.”

PM to also distribute the Green Campus Award to the Agricultural Universities

In an endeavour to create mass awareness for adoption of climate resilient technologies, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will dedicate 35 crop varieties with special traits to the Nation on 28th September at 11 AM via video conferencing, in a pan India programme organised at all ICAR Institutes, State and Central Agricultural Universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs). During the programme, the Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation the newly constructed campus of National Institute of Biotic Stress Management Raipur.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister will distribute Green Campus Award to Agricultural Universities, as well as interact with farmers who use innovative methods and address the gathering.

Union Minister of Agriculture and Chief Minister Chhattisgarh will be present on the occasion.

About crop varieties with special traits

The crop varieties with special traits have been developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to address the twin challenges of climate change and malnutrition. Thirty-five such crop varieties with special traits like climate resilience and higher nutrient content have been developed in the year 2021. These include a drought tolerant variety of chickpea, wilt and sterility mosaic resistant pigeonpea, early maturing variety of soybean, disease resistant varieties of rice and biofortified varieties of wheat, pearl millet, maize and chickpea, quinoa, buckwheat, winged bean and faba bean.

These special traits crop varieties also include those that address the anti-nutritional factors found in some crops that adversely affect human and animal health. Examples of such varieties include Pusa Double Zero Mustard 33, first Canola quality hybrid RCH 1 with <2% erucic acid and <30 ppm glucosinolates and a soybean variety free from two anti-nutritional factors namely Kunitz trypsin inhibitor and lipoxygenase. Other varieties with special traits have been developed in soybean, sorghum, and baby corn, among others.

About National Institute of Biotic Stress Management

The National Institute of Biotic Stress Management at Raipur has been established to take up the basic and strategic research in biotic stresses, develop human resources and provide policy support. The institute has started PG courses from the academic session 2020-21.

About Green Campus Awards

The Green Campus Awards has been initiated to motivate the State and Central Agricultural Universities to develop or adopt such practices that will render their campuses more green and clean, and motivate students to get involved in ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, ‘Waste to Wealth Mission’ and community connect as per the National Education Policy-2020.
