पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखालील आर्थिक व्यवहारविषयक मंत्रिमंडळ समितीने आसाममधील राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग क्रमांक 15 वरील गोहपूर ते राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग क्रमांक 715 वरील नुमालीगड या दरम्यान 4 पदरी प्रवेश नियंत्रित हरित संपर्क जोडणीविषयक बांधकामाला काल मंजुरी दिली आहे. याअंतर्गत ब्रह्मपुत्रा नदीखाली 15.79 किमी लांबीच्या रस्ते आणि रेल्वे बोगद्याचा (Road cum Rail Tunnel) समावेश आहे. हा संपूर्ण प्रकल्प एकूण 18,662 कोटी रुपये भांडवली खर्चासह अभियांत्रिकी, खरेदी आणि बांधकाम (EPC - Engineering Procurement Construction) तत्त्वावर विकसित केला जाणार आहे.
