Recalling the historic ties and shared struggle for freedom between the two nations, he paid tribute to Dr. Sam Nujoma, the founding father of Namibia. He also called for enhanced people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी नामिबियाच्या अधिकृत दौऱ्या दरम्यान आज विंडहोक येथील स्टेट हाऊसमध्ये नामिबियाच्या राष्ट्राध्यक्षा डॉ.नेटुम्बो नंदी-नदैतवा यांची भेट घेतली. स्टेट हाऊसमध्ये आगमन झाल्यावर, राष्ट्राध्यक्षा नंदी-नदैतवा यांनी पंतप्रधान मोदी यांचे स्नेहमय स्वागत केले आणि त्यानंतर त्यांचे औपचारिक स्वागत करण्यात आले. पंतप्रधान स्तरावर भारताकडून तब्बल 27 वर्षांनंतर नामिबियाचा हा दौरा होत आहे. या वर्षी मार्चमध्ये पदभार स्वीकारल्यानंतर राष्ट्रपती नंदी-नदैतवा यांनी आयोजित केलेली ही पहिलीच द्विपक्षीय राजकीय भेट होती.

On his State Visit to Namibia, PM Modi was conferred the nation’s highest civilian honour, the Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. As the first Indian to receive it, he dedicated the award to 1.4 billion Indians and the enduring India-Namibia partnership rooted in shared values and history.
