मी आपले आणि सदनातील सर्व माननीय सदस्यांचे हार्दिक आभार मानतो, आपण या महत्त्वाच्या क्षणानिमित्त एक सामूहिक चर्चेचा निर्णय घेतला. ज्या मंत्राने, ज्या जयघोषाने देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्यलढ्याला ऊर्जा दिली होती, प्रेरणा दिली होती, त्याग आणि तपस्येचा मार्ग दाखवला होता, त्या वंदे मातरमचे पुण्यस्मरण करणे, हे या सदनातील आपल्या सर्वांचे खूप मोठे भाग्य आहे. आणि आपल्यासाठी ही अभिमानाची बाब आहे की वंदे मातरमच्या 150 वर्षांनिमित्त या ऐतिहासिक प्रसंगाचे आपण साक्षीदार ठरत आहोत. एक असा कालखंड जो आपल्या समोर इतिहासातल्या अगणित घटना समोर घेऊन येतो. ही चर्चा सदनाची वचनबद्धता तर प्रकट करेलच त्याचसोबत आगामी पिढ्यांसाठीही, प्रत्येक पिढीसाठी शिकवण ठरू शकेल, जर आपण सर्वांनी मिळून याचा सदुपयोग केला तर.
