IARI-आसाम, कृषीविषयक पदव्युत्तर शिक्षण संस्था असेल. या संस्थेला IARI म्हणून वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण ओळख असेल ज्यांत इथे कृषी क्षेत्राशी संबंधित शेतोत्पादन, फलोत्पादन, वन संवर्धन, पशु संवर्धन, मत्स्यपालन, कुक्कुटपालन, डुक्करपालन, रेशीम उत्पादन, मधमाशी पालन इत्यादी क्षेत्राचा समावेश असेल.
