India – France Joint Statement

At the invitation of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, President of the French Republic H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron paid an official visit to India from 17 to 19 February 2026 and participated in the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit 2026. During the visit, the two leaders held bilateral talks and jointly inaugurated the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation in Mumbai on 17 February. This is President Macron’s 4th visit to India and it follows Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France in February 2025.

PM Modi addressed the 6th edition of the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. He added that we must invest in resilient infrastructure today, for a better tomorrow. Resilience needs to be factored into new infrastructure creation. Further, it also needs to be a part of post-disaster rebuilding. After disasters, the immediate focus is naturally on relief and rehabilitation. After the initial response, our focus should also include the resilience of infrastructure.

सारे जग एकमेकांशी जोडलेले असताना आपत्तींचा प्रभाव फक्त स्थानिक राहत नाही त्यामुळे जागतिक दृष्टीकोनातून सीडीआरआयची निर्मिती झाली आहे, असे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले. त्यामुळे, आपला प्रतिसाद एकाकी न ठेवता एकीकृत केला पाहिजे,असे ते म्हणाले. अवघ्या काही वर्षांत, प्रगत आणि विकसनशील देशांतील, लहान-मोठे, जगाच्या दक्षिण किंवा उत्तर भागातले 40 हून अधिक देश सीडीआरआयचा भाग बनले आहेत असे त्यांनी नमूद केले. सरकार व्यतिरिक्त, जागतिक संस्था, खाजगी क्षेत्रे आणि तज्ञ देखील यात सहभागी आहेत हे उत्साहवर्धक असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.
