At a massive public meeting in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Tiruchirappalli as a land of courage and faith, recalling the bravery of the Marudu Brothers and paying tribute to Major M. Saravanan for his sacrifice during the Kargil War. “Trichy is a land of courage and faith,” he said, adding that the Centre proudly honours Tamil Nadu’s culture and heritage. Later, in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, the PM will launch projects costing ₹5,650 crore covering energy, manufacturing, connectivity and railway services.

पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली झालेल्या आर्थिक व्यवहार विषयक मंत्रिमंडळ समितीने आज सार्वजनिक उपक्रम विभागाच्या (डीपीई) 4 फेब्रुवारी 2010 च्या मार्गदर्शक तत्त्वांनुसार, महारत्न सीपीएसईंना लागू असलेल्या अधिकारवाटपात पॉवरग्रिडला वाढीव अधिकार देण्यास मंजुरी दिली. या निर्णयामुळे पॉवरग्रिडसाठी परवानगी असलेली इक्विटी गुंतवणूक मर्यादा प्रति उपकंपनी 5,000 कोटी रुपयांच्या सध्याच्या मर्यादेवरून 7,500 कोटी रुपयांपर्यंत वाढली आहे, तर कंपनीच्या निव्वळ मूल्याच्या 15% ची विद्यमान कमाल मर्यादा कायम ठेवण्यात आली आहे.
