പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി പതിനേഴാം സിവിൽ സർവീസസ് ദിനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു ന്യൂഡൽഹിയിലെ വിജ്ഞാൻ ഭവനിൽ ഇന്നു നടന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ സിവിൽ സർവീസസ് ജീവനക്കാരെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്തു. പൊതുഭരണത്തിലെ മികവിനുള്ള പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം സമ്മാനിച്ചു. സദസ്സിനെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്യവേ, സിവിൽ സർവീസസ് ദിനത്തിൽ ഏവർക്കും ആശംസകൾ നേർന്ന പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി, ഭരണഘടനയുടെ 75-ാം വാർഷികവും സർദാർ വല്ലഭ്ഭായ് പട്ടേലിന്റെ 150-ാം ജന്മവാർഷികവും ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഈ വർഷത്തെ ആഘോഷത്തിനു പ്രാധാന്യമേറെയാണെന്ന് എടുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു. 1947 ഏപ്രിൽ 21നു സിവിൽ സർവീസുകാരെ ‘ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഉരുക്കുചട്ടക്കൂട്’ എന്നു വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ച സർദാർ പട്ടേലിന്റെ ഐതിഹാസിക പ്രസ്താവന അനുസ്മരിച്ച പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി, അച്ചടക്കം, സത്യസന്ധത, ജനാധിപത്യ മൂല്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്ന, അങ്ങേയറ്റം സമർപ്പണത്തോടെ രാജ്യത്തെ സേവിക്കുന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥവൃന്ദത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പട്ടേലിന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാാടിന് ഊന്നൽ നൽകി. വികസ‌ിത രാഷ്ട്രമാകാനുള്ള ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ദൃഢനിശ്ചയത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ സർദാർ പട്ടേലിന്റെ ആദർശങ്ങളുടെ പ്രസക്തിക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം അടിവരയിട്ടു. സർദാർ പട്ടേലിന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിനും പാരമ്പര്യത്തിനും അദ്ദേഹം ഹൃദയംഗമമായ ആദരമർപ്പിച്ചു.
