ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശിലെ മീററ്റില്‍ മേജര്‍ ധ്യാന്‍ചന്ദ് കായിക സര്‍വകലാശാലയുടെ തറക്കല്ലിടല്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി നിര്‍വഹിച്ചു. സിന്തറ്റിക് ഹോക്കി ഗ്രൗണ്ട്, ഫുട്‌ബോള്‍ ഗ്രൗണ്ട്, ബാസ്‌ക്കറ്റ്‌ബോള്‍ / വോളിബോള്‍ / ഹാന്‍ഡ്‌ബോള്‍ / കബഡി ഗ്രൗണ്ട്, ലോണ്‍ ടെന്നീസ് കോര്‍ട്ട്, ജിംനേഷ്യം ഹാള്‍, ഓടുന്നതിന് സിന്തറ്റിക് ട്രാക്കോടുകൂടിയ സ്‌റ്റേഡിയം നീന്തല്‍കുളം, വിവിധോദ്ദേശ ഹാള്‍, സൈക്കിള്‍ വെലോഡ്രോം എന്നിവയുള്‍പ്പെടെ ആധുനികവും അത്യാധുനികവുമായ കായിക പശ്ചാത്തലസൗകര്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടി 700 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവിലാണ് കായിക സര്‍വകലാശാല സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നത്. ഷൂട്ടിംഗ്, സ്‌ക്വാഷ്, ജിംനാസ്റ്റിക്‌സ്, ഭാരോദ്വഹനം, അമ്പെയ്ത്ത്, കനോയിംഗ്, കയാക്കിംഗ് എന്നിവയ്ക്കുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങളും സര്‍വകലാശാലയിലുണ്ടാകും. 540 സ്ത്രീകളും 540 പുരുഷ കായികതാരങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 1080 കായികതാരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പരിശീലനം നല്‍കാനുള്ള ശേഷി സര്‍വകലാശാലയ്ക്കുണ്ടാകും.
