ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಹೂಗ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಿಂಗೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ನಡೆದ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ₹830 ಕೋಟಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಂಕುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಲವು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೋದಿಯವರು, ನಿನ್ನೆ ತಾನು ಮಾಲ್ಡಾದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದು ಹೂಗ್ಲಿಯ ಜನರ ನಡುವೆ ಇರುವ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ನನಗೆ ಲಭಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹರ್ಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಕಸಿತ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ಭಾರತದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಇದೇ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ನಿನ್ನೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದಿನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಈ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ನೂರಾರು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಂಕುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿಯವರು ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದರು.
