ಇಂದು, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 12, ಬಹಳ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದಿನ. 1930 ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 12ರಂದು, ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರು ಸಬರಮತಿ ಆಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ದಂಡಿಯಾತ್ರೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಇದು ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಚಳವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ತಿರುವು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿತು. ಅದೇ ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ. ಇಂದು ಈ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ಸುಮಾರು 100 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ, ನಾವು ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ(ವಿಕಸಿತ ಭಾರತ). ನಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿ ಒಂದೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಗಮ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನ ಒಂದೇ – ಅದೇ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಭಾರತ. ಈ ಗುರಿ ಸಾಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಶೃಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಚಿಂತನ ಮಂಥನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಅಮೃತವು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅನೇಕ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕೆಲವರು ಹಳೆಯ ಪರಿಚಯಸ್ಥರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
