ಇಟಲಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಜಾರ್ಜಿಯಾ ಮೆಲೋನಿ ಅವರ ಆಹ್ವಾನದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ, ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು 19-20 ಮೇ 2026 ರಂದು ಇಟಲಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಜಿ7 ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಗಾಗಿ ಜೂನ್ 2024ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ಇಟಲಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಭೇಟಿ ಮತ್ತು 2023ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿ20 ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮೆಲೋನಿ ಅವರು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಭೇಟಿಯ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಭೇಟಿಯು, ದ್ವಿಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಉತ್ತೇಜನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು. ಉಭಯ ನಾಯಕರು ಭಾರತ-ಇಟಲಿ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು 'ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯತಂತ್ರದ ಪಾಲುದಾರಿಕೆ'ಯ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಳೆದ ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮೆಲೋನಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಲು ನನಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿವೆ. ಇದು ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ಇಟಲಿ ನಡುವಿನ ನಿಕಟ ಸಹಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳು ಹೊಸ ಆವೇಗ, ಹೊಸ ದಿಕ್ಕು ಮತ್ತು ನವೀಕೃತ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿವೆ. ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ನಾವು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯತಂತ್ರ ಪಾಲುದಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದರಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇಂದು 3ನೇ ಭಾರತ-ನಾರ್ಡಿಕ್ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷ ತಂದಿದೆ. ಮೊದಲನೆಯದಾಗಿ, ಈ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾರ್ವೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಾರ್ಡಿಕ್ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ನಾನು ನಾರ್ವೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು, ಆದರೆ ಪಹಲ್ಗಾಮ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ದಾಳಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸ ಮುಂದೂಡಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಕಷ್ಟದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಾರ್ವೆ ಭಾರತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸದೃಢವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿತು. ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹದ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂದು ನಾನು ನಾರ್ವೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿರುವಾಗ ಆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
