Addressing rallies in Baramati, Ahmednagar, Pimpri and Mumbai, the Prime Minister came down heavily on the misgovernance of the Congress and NCP, saying that had they focused on development of Maharashtra, the State’s youth would have jobs, there would not be terror attacks and the systems would have improved. The Prime Minister made it clear that the focus of the BJP remains the development of Maharashtra and to provide our youth with employment opportunities.
Addressing a very big rally in Baramati the Prime Minister said, “Direction of the wind is clear. What will happen to the uncle and the nephew? This large gathering has come here not to elect an MLA or a Government. It is a second freedom struggle…a freedom struggle from the uncle and the nephew.” Referring to the working of former Union Minister Shri Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy CM Shri Ajit Pawar the Prime Minister said, “Our nation got freedom but the farmers and citizens of Baramati have been enslaved by those under whom dreams and farms are not secure. People want jobs, they have to bow in front of them…farmers want water, the farmers have to bow in front of them.”
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the farmers have now woken up. He said that in the Dandi March Mahatma Gandhi picked up a handful of salt that rattled the British and on 15th October, the people can use one finger to defeat those who have stalled their progress. Referring to the insensitive remarks made by Maharashtra Deputy CM Shri Ajit Pawar the Prime Minister affirmed, “When people go to ask them for water what kind of words do they use? Can you imagine such people are Ministers.”
He questioned the tenure of Shri Sharad Pawar as the Agriculture Minister, asking why are so many farmers in Maharashtra committing suicide despite the Minister belonging to the State. The PM also questioned the NCP for betraying the aspirations of the Dhangar community that stood by them through thick and thin. “I thank the Dhangar community for their affection. Why is it that they have to fight for their rights? They supported you but you stabbed them in the back,” said the Prime Minister.
Giving a befitting reply to Shri Sharad Pawar who questioned why the PM was campaigning in Maharashtra when there is tension in the borders, the PM reminded the former Union Minister that there is no need to play politics on such issues and that the Jawans of India are giving a befitting reply to those who are troubling India. He asked Shri Sharad Pawar how many times he visited the border areas when he was Union Defence Minister. He also added that the NCP holds the Home Portfolio in Maharashtra yet there are so many terror attacks and terrorists are not caught.
Attacking the rampant corruption under Congress-NCP the PM avowed that they are interested in LBT because for them it is ‘Lutoo Batoo Tax.’ “They left nothing…they stole water from farms, they stole from mid day meals and they even stole from houses meant for war widows,” he pointed.
