Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on the eve of Independence Festival, dedicated as many as six-projects worth Rs. 425 Cr in Rajkot today. The Dwelling Units constructed for the poor in Gujarat has been acknowledged as a model one, Union Government has also accepted the model, he added. Present Government is fully committed to help the poor.
As many as 4900 beneficiaries were given away the housing facility under the Shaheri Garib Samrudhdhi Yojana, which has been taken up by Rajkot Municipal Corporation. He also laid foundation of Express Feeder Pipeline Scheme and two underground Drainage Projects at Madhapar.
CM today paid rich tributes to martyrs and freedom fighters. He asserted for preserving environment. Gujarat is rapidly moving forward, CM sought support from citizens for the development of nation.

Rajkot plays host to State level celebrations of Independence Festival, CM noted it with pride that the celebrations have taken form of development festival, development projects worth Rs. 700 Cr has come to Rajkot as a bonanza. It has never happened in the past 50 years; CM also highlighted the achievements of the State. The long cherished dream of the poor to have their own-home is being realised today. It is the duty of parents to educate their children, CM added.
CM has urged the Union Government to implement Solid waste Management measures and to undertake Waste Water Treatment projects for each city. It would not only earn carbon credits for the nation but also conserve the environment. Rajkot Municipal Corporation has taken an initiative in this regard. He also asserted for massive water conservation efforts.
An enormous drive to say goodbye to poverty, the Garib Kalyan Mela Seva Yagna is aimed to achieve the vision of all-inclusive growth, claimed CM.
CM today inaugurated 4 Skill-Development Centres in Rajkot. Gujarat has shown the path by practicing politics of development. Unfortunately, the trends in the country show that the petty political interests have shadowed nationalism since 50 years. He gave a call to build up healthy environment which is very crucial to the development of nation, added CM.
Finance Minister Shri Vajubhai Vala elaborated upon the Rs. 25 Cr. water supply scheme, which is meant to solve the long pending problem faced by the people of Rajkot.
Mayor Shri Sandhya Vyas also addressed the gathering. The development bonanza consist projects worth Rs. 700 Cr, out of that- projects to the tune of Rs. 482 Cr have been inaugurated, and new projects of Rs. 419 Cr have commenced as part of Swarnim Independence Festival. It is worth mentioning that the 4000 dwelling units with modern facilities, the project has been completed at a cost of Rs. 156 Cr. The first ever Sewage Treatment Plant of Asia at a cost of Rs. 14500 Lac would add to the amenities of the citizens. An impressive array of development works have been taken up under the ongoing Independence Festival, Under Ground Drainage Project at a cost of Rs. 7862 Cr. Spanned over 236 acre of land, Pradyuman Park Zoo project at the cost of Rs 10 Cr. Shri Narendra Modi has laid foundation stone of the projects of civic amenities.
