MOU signed between India-China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC) and Sichuan’s PGG group
CM receives great response from the business community of Sichuan province
An MOU was signed between India-China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC) and Panzhichua Guanghua Group (PGG) for developing the business relationship between Sichuan province and Gujarat. PGG Chairman Mr. Yangpianlong and ICEC Chairman Mr. Jagat Shah signed the MOU in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Under this, ICEC will open an office in Chengdu with a view to facilitate the development of tourism, education and cultural sectors. There will also be an exchange of business delegations and cultural groups between Gujarat and Sichuan. ICEC will arrange for the teachers of Mandarin language in Gujarat. A Sichuan business delegation will be called in Gujarat to attend Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit 2013. Other activities include the development of Buddhist tour circuit in Gujarat and organizing of Sichuan food festival in Gujarat and Gujarat food festival in Sichuan.
Thanking the Central government of China, Chinese people and the business community for the warm welcome Chief Minister said that Gujarat delegation has been encouraged by the positive response given by Sichuan’s party secretary Mr. Quibao and the Governor Mr. Jiang Jufeng for expanding the scope of relationship between Gujarat and Sichuan in the financial and cultural fields.
Chief Minister s aid that one third of the world population lives in the two nations – India and China. And so, both the countries should come up courageously to play a decisive role in the world economy.
He gave outline of how Gujarat is emerging as a global economic hub and an automobile hub of Asia. He also enumerated the benefits of investing in Gujarat such as good governance, steady government, transparent policies, absence of labor conflicts and industrial struggles.
Gujarat’s business delegation also held various B2B meets with their counterparts of Sichuan.
Vice Secretary of Sichuan’s provincial government Mr. Kang Yuv Xue said that there are immense possibilities of partnership between the businesses of Sichuan and Gujarat and that the present visit of the Gujarat delegation has proved crucial in developing it.
Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. A.K.Sharma and Principal Secretary to Industries Maheshwar Sahu gave presentations on Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board and the opportunities of investment in Gujarat respectively. Government of Sichuan province also made a presentation on the opportunities of industrial development before the Gujarat delegation.
CM visits R&D centre of world-famous Huawei Technologies
Invites Huawei to set up R&D centre in Gujarat
On the fifth day of his tour to China, Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Chengdu took visit of high-tech rese arch and development centre of Huawei Technologies, a world-famous company in the field of technology.Giving details of the State’s strides in the field of technology Chief Minister s aid that Gujarat has set up a broadband network in all its 18,000 villages and has successfully uplifted the quality of life of its people with the use of latest technology. The state has been on the top in the implementation of e-governance projects. There is a great scope for the telecom manuf acturing and engineering equipment business in Gujarat.
Chief Minister also discussed with office bearers of Huawei to set up an R&D centre in Gujarat.
Huawei has more than one lakh IT technocrats working in the 26 regions of the world, said company officials in their presentation. The company’s telecom project is also operative in Gujarat since 2007.
