Shri Narendra Modi’s Swami Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra entered Kadi in Mehsana district on the evening of September 11th 2012. Shri Modi spoke on a wide-range of issues and enlightened the people of the petty politics of the Congress and their injustice towards Gujarat.

The Chief Minister profusely thanked the people of their warm hospitality every time he visits Kadi.  He added that it is this warmth of the people that is bothering the Congress, who has opened a factory of manufacturing lies yet, the market has not accepted their lies. Shri Modi affirmed that while Gujarat is celebrating a ‘Decade of Development’, the Congress is celebrating a ‘Decade of Lies’.

Speaking about the Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra, Shri Modi stated that he began the Yatra on the historic day when Swami Vivekananda drew the world’s attention to India’s glorious culture at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago. He recounted how with the first words of “Brothers and Sisters of America”, the whole gathering burst into a thundering applause for Swami Vivekananda. Shri Modi said that there are two 9/11s but had the first 9/11 not been forgotten, the second one of 2001 would never have happened.

The Chief Minister expressed faith that today or tomorrow, the dream of Swami Vivekananda to see India at the pedestal of world leadership would come true. He shared that Swami Vivekananda has immense faith in the youth. Shri Modi affirmed that the world is fast changing and scaling new heights but expressed disappointment that countries that got free even after India are marching ahead of us. He further said that the only way to go ahead is development but ironically, the country is in the hands of people from whom there is no hope.

Taking direct potshots at the Congress-led UPA, Shri Modi stated that in Gujarat people have heard of Municipalities, Taluka Panchayat et al doing good things every few months but the UPA has been in power for 8 years but has it tried to do any good in this time? Referring to the spurt of Congress advertisements, Shri Modi wondered how a car itself without an engine or a driver could think of showing Disha (direction). Shri Modi opined that the people have seen the Disha of the Congress for 60 years- it is that of communal and caste politics, corruption and dynasty politics. He remarked that no one has ever heard of coal getting stolen but the Centre has not even sparred that and looted nation to the tune of Rs. 2 lac crore.

The Chief Minister shared that to Delhi’s continuous changing of policies at their whim and fancies, the Gujarat Government has come up with the New Textile Policy that will benefit the farmer. The policy will be based on the 5F formula (farm-fibre-fabric-fashion-foreign) and will generate many jobs for the people, Shri Modi shared.

Shri Modi further pointed out that while Delhi is neck-deep in corruption, Gujarat has become synonymous with development all over the world. Shri Modi said that the Congress is spending excessive amounts of money and even putting 90 advertisements on TV but when they put one on the Centre’s injustice to Gujarat, it gave the Congress sleepless nights and they went to Court against it. He informed that the ‘Thappad’ (slap) to Gujarat would automatically go away if the Centre stops the injustice to Gujarat. He also wondered why the Congress had not bothered to support initiatives like the Gutka Mukti Abhiyan that have generated a terrific response among the people especially the women of the state.

Referring to the injustice to Gujarat, Shri Modi said that Gujarat gives Rs. 60,000 cr to Delhi but gets only Rs. 6000 crore back. He added that Gujarat will be the first state to give any amount of money if the poor are receiving benefits but those who think people of Gujarat are beggars and indulge injustice to them will be answered back in their own coin by the people of Gujarat. He declared that this is the land of Sardar Patel and Gujarat will fight for justice (Nyay) and honor (Swabhiman).

The programme was very well attended by people as well as dignitaries, Cabinet Ministers and senior BJP leaders.
