State-level celebration to be held at Dahod
Foundation to be laid of 1126 development works of Rs.229 cr

The State is all set to celebrate its 52nd Formation Day in a grand way on May 01, 2012. This year the state-level celebration will be held at tribal Dahod district in the presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister Narendra Modi honour the dignitaries of Dahoad district. He will hand out awards and will release books. He will also lay foundations of several development works apart from dedicating various developments to the people.
In all, foundation of 1126 development works of Rs.229 crore will be laid that include a hospital building at Dahod and a ripening chamber. Besides, 1947 development works of Rs.186 crore will be dedicated to people, which include building of agricultural engineering college, the new building of agro polytechnic, a new building of agricultural science centre, a cold storage and a physiotherapy college.
A cultural programme on the theme of ‘Disha Chindhe Dahod’ (Let Dahod show the path) will be held on the ground of Dahod Commerce College. There will also be a display of fire-works. The statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji will be unveiled. Besides, the programmes such as police March Past, distribution of order letters of various assistance schemes, exhibitions showcasing development of tribals, among others.
The state government has also planned programmes like cattle treatment camps, cattle health fairs, Beti Vadhao campaign, torch light processions and folk music.
Various programmes will also be held at Ahmedabad in the presence of the Chief Minister. The morning functions include floral tribute to the statue of Induchacha at Nehrubridge corner on 9:00 am, floral tribute to martyrs at Shahid Smark on 9:15 am. Besides, the Chief Minister will inaugurate Ahmedabad’s first National Book Fair at Sabarmati Riverfront. On the occasion, the Unique Identification Number programme will also be launched in the State.
The State Capital Gandhinagar will also witness a host of programmes. These include March Past, tableaux, cultural programmes and fireworks on the ‘Ch’ road on 6:00 pm. The officials of state government, Boards/Corporations will also participate in the celebration.
