સ્વામી વિવેકાનંદ જયંતિ પર આજે ભારતમાં ચાન્સેલર મર્ઝનું સ્વાગત કરવું મારા માટે વિશેષ આનંદની વાત છે. સ્વામી વિવેકાનંદે ભારત અને જર્મની વચ્ચે ફિલસૂફી, જ્ઞાન અને ભાવનાનો સેતુ બનાવ્યો તે એક સુખદ સંયોગ છે. ચાન્સેલર મર્ઝની આજની મુલાકાત તે સેતુને નવી ઉર્જા, નવો આત્મવિશ્વાસ અને નવો વિસ્તરણ પ્રદાન કરે છે. ચાન્સેલર તરીકે આ તેમની માત્ર ભારત જ નહીં પરંતુ એશિયાની પ્રથમ મુલાકાત છે. આ ભારત સાથેના સંબંધોને તેઓ જે વિશેષ મહત્વ આપે છે તેનો એક શક્તિશાળી પુરાવો છે. હું તેમના વ્યક્તિગત ધ્યાન અને પ્રતિબદ્ધતા બદલ તેમનો આભાર માનું છું. ભારત જર્મની સાથેની તેની મિત્રતા અને ભાગીદારીને વધુ મજબૂત બનાવવા માટે સંપૂર્ણપણે પ્રતિબદ્ધ છે. ગુજરાતમાં અમે કહીએ છીએ, આવકારો મીઠો આપજો રે, જેનો અર્થ થાય છે, સ્નેહ અને હૂંફ સાથે સ્વાગત છે. આ ભાવના સાથે અમે ચાન્સેલર મર્ઝનું ભારતમાં હૃદયપૂર્વક સ્વાગત કરીએ છીએ.
