પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીની અધ્યક્ષતામાં કેન્દ્રીય મંત્રીમંડળે બાયોમેડિકલ રિસર્ચ કરિયર પ્રોગ્રામ (BRCP), ત્રીજા તબક્કાને ચાલુ રાખવાની મંજૂરી આપી છે. આ કાર્યક્રમ બાયોટેકનોલોજી વિભાગ (DBT) અને વેલકમ ટ્રસ્ટ (WT), યુનાઇટેડ કિંગડમ અને SPV, ઇન્ડિયા એલાયન્સ વચ્ચે ત્રીજા તબક્કા (2025-26 થી 2030-31) માટે ભાગીદારીમાં અમલમાં મૂકવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે, જેમાં બીજા છ વર્ષ (2031-32 થી 2037-38) માટે સેવા ફેલોશિપ અને ગ્રાન્ટ મંજૂર કરવામાં આવશે, જેનો કુલ ખર્ચ 2030-31 સુધી રૂ. 1500 કરોડ થશે, જેમાં DBT અને WT, UK અનુક્રમે રૂ. 1000 કરોડ અને રૂ. 500 કરોડનું યોગદાન આપશે.
