Governor of Gujarat Dr.Shrimati Kamlaji has greeted the people of the State on the occasion of 15th August, Independence Day.

In her message, the Governor said that we have safeguarded the invaluable independence, secured by great freedom fighters of the country. It is needed that we imbibe moral values like truth, non-violence, equality and unity-in-diversity, practiced by Mahatma Gandhi, a man who for the first time brought us the freedom without shedding of blood.

Governor said that celebration of this national festival is the time for us to salute those patriots and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in bringing freedom to us and resolve to take our country on the new heights of success by moving forward on the path paved by them. 'Let us all today recall the sacrifice made by greatest patriots and dedicate ourselves in keeping our unity and integrity intact', she added.
