Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Chief Minister Narendra Modi will unfurl National Flag on the morning of 67th Independance Day at Lalan College Ground, amid playing of National Anthem by police band and a blend of beating of drums. Chief Minister shri Narendra Modi will also greet thousands of people gathered here to witness the State level celebration to be held for the first time at their home town and deliver a message of patriotism and national integrity. Shri Narendra Modi will visit Dharmashala boder and interact with jawans of Border Security Force at noon on I-Day.
He will dedicate water pipe line network laid between India Bridge and Dharmashala under Gujarat water supply scheme on August, 15. Dedication and stone laying ceremonies of 46 development works worth Rs. 304.99 crore will be performed by the Chief Minister. Governor Dr. Shrimati Kamla accompanied by the Chief Minister, will meet and greet around 400 prominent citizens from various walks of life at the “At Home” programme that is to be hosted by Raj Bhavan in Bhuj on the eve of I-Day. It may be recalled that the State level celebration of Independence Day is going to be held at Bhuj in the bordering Kutch district, the land of unique white desert, to enable people of the district to participate in the State level event.
Chief Minister will attend a series of programmes on 14th August that includes inauguration of a modern veterinary hospital, interaction with youth at Vivekananda Vikas parishad to be held at Kutch University auditorium and "At Home" programme.
The CM will felicitate renowned citizens and release souvenirs published by district administration at the grand cultural programme “Kachdo Bare Mass"” to be held on I-Day eve at R. D. Varsani complex here. A series of cultural programmes will be performed by 131 renowned artists from Kutch and across Gujarat.
Commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural activities Bhagyesh Jha has carried out a painstaking efforts to make this programme a grand success where more than 50,000 audience is expected to attend.
Impressive Surya Vandana and Yoga will be performed by 1640 students of local schools to mark the occasion.
An impressive march past ceremony will also be conducted on the tune of police band. Dog show and Horse show including tent-pegging and jumping will be the star attraction for the people of Kutch district. Russian P.T., Motor bike stunt, gymnastic demonstration and band display will be an added attraction.
Chief Minister will greet freedom fighters of the district. Prizes to the winners of the best platoons will be given away. Kutch District administration under the leadership of collector Harshad Patel is all set to make this event a grand success. Kutch Range DIG Anilsinh Jadeja and SP Vidhi Chaudhary have tightened the security arrangenets at Lalan Capus where thousands of people are expected to gather to witness the flag hoisting ceremony.
It may be recalled that 3302 works worth Rs. 433 crore have been dedicated and ground breaking ceremonies of 1560 works worth Rs. 397.81 crore have been performed in Kutch district by the State Government in the last one month as a part of I-Day celebrations.
