CM lays out vision for VGGIS: 2011 Plans: Clear Roadmap for action

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who is on a mission tour to Bangalore, laid out plan for Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor’s Summit: 2011. Gujarat is billed as most popular investment destination; the upcoming summit is likely to witness meaningful participation of delegates from nearly 80 countries.

The 5th Edition of VGGIS marks a historic milestone that marks seven glorious years and achievements. The high level event, organised by Government of Gujarat (GoG), is to bring together top echelons of Industries and Technology sectors. The meet enables interchange of ideas by mind, it is to have a special focus on sectors like Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Engineering & Auto, Environment Technology, Finance Services, Agro & Food Processing, Gems & Jewellery, Green Energy, Healthcare, Knowledge Sector, Oil Gas and Power, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology, Ports –Ship Building and related Activities, SIR- SEZs- Industrial Parks and Logistic Parks, Tourism, Urban Development and Water Conservation.

Thanks to the vision of the Chief Minister, who understands the amazing potential of State’s young and forward looking Small and Medium Entrepreneurs, this is to be very rewarding 3-Days and the representatives of Small and Medium Enterprises would get an opportunity to share views and discuss concepts at the conventions that are dedicated to small and medium sector entrepreneurs. Shri Modiji recently said that Gujarat now proposes to evolve a special package for the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector with zero defect manufacturing and best packaging by common “Made in Gujarat” brand, with stress on skilled manpower development and skill up-gradation network.

Gujarat stands on firmer ground, with a solid platform for growth that consist clean principals for transparency and work ethics combining with modern infrastructure. Gujarat’s economy is set to grow at high growth rate offers an attractive and stable environment for businesses to make long term plans. Investors detest uncertainty, Shri Modiji always says, “There is no Red-Tapism in my State, only Red- Carpets. The peace and cordial atmosphere prevailing here attracts capital investors towards Gujarat.”

Series of reforms under the visionary leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi helped improving competitiveness of Gujarat’s economy and the business environment in general. We expect to see capital investment to grow multifold. Talking about the Gujarat model at Bangalore on Thursday, Shri. Modiji said, it is about public delivery system to grievances redressal system through public-private partnership. He said the Gujarat initiative as global investment promotion event started in 2003 has over the years emerged as a truly global business promotion and knowledge networking platform. A stable government, proactive governance, pragmatic policies and friendly environment, added to it zero level man-days loss with no labour problem and power cuts have also their contribution.

VGGIS will boost Gujarat’s economic prospects, also putting the region on world economic map; Gujarat has all the credentials to succeed. As part of the Summit various seminars to take place during December and January-2011, the subjects to be covered are- Textile including Technical Textile-Information Technology and Bio-Technology- Tourism-Chemicals and Petrochemicals- Pharmaceuticals- Responsive Healthcare- Gems& Jewellery- Mineral based Industries- Agro and Food Processing- Oil Gas and Power- Financial Services- Engineering and Auto- Special Investment Regions, Special Economic Zones, Industrial Parks, Logistic Parks- Ports, Ship Building and related activities.

Vibrant Gujarat is a biennial Summit, the event is designed to bring together business leaders, investors, corporate houses, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers; the summit also offers perfect platform to understand and explore business opportunities with global leaders from economies around the world. The Summit has been a resounding success in past, encouraging many companies from North America, Europe, and Middle East to establish a presence in Gujarat.
