CM greets people of Dadra & Nagar Haveli on Liberation Day

On Friday 2nd August 2013 Shri Narendra Modi greeted the people of Dadra and Nagar Haveli on the occasion of Liberation Day.  Liberation day marks the anniversary of the liberation of Silvassa from the Portuguese. Silvassa serves as the capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

On 2nd August 1954, those associated with the liberation movement moved into Silvassa. The Portuguese Administrator and his team of administrative and police personnel fled and thus, Dadra and Nagar Haveli was declared as liberated on this day.

Shri Modi said that Dadra and Nagar Haveli enjoys a special and very close relationship with Gujarat and wished the people of this historic day.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli was subsequently merged into the Indian Union in 1961.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi visited Anubhuti Kendra at Bharat Mandapam on completion of 3 years of GatiShakti today. Shri Modi remarked that PM GatiShakti has played a critical role in adding momentum to India’s infrastructure development journey.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

“Today, as GatiShakti completed three years, went to Bharat Mandapam and visited the Anubhuti Kendra, where I experienced the transformative power of this initiative.”
