A team of 13 people comprising of government officials, company officials, academicians will participate in a discussion forum on Emerging Geographies at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM –A)  on 10th January, 2011.

With the support of IIM-A and the Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb), Government of Gujarat, the discussion forum will be organized as part of the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat 2011 Summit. The forum will be attended by Shri. A.K.Joti, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat; Ravi Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, and will include a host of key speakers like Dr.Subas Pani Chairman & Managing Director, India Trade Promotion Organization; Brad Staples, President International, APCO Worldwide; Dr.Ajit Ranade, Chief Economist, Aditya Birla Group; Dr. Shubhada Rao, President & Chief Economist, Yes Bank; Shivnath Thukral, Group President, Essar Group; Prof. Errol D’Souza, Professor of Economics, IIM-A; Manish Sabharwal, Chief Executive Officer, Teamlease; R Ravichandran Intel Technology Pvt Ltd among others. The forum will be moderated by Damini Kumari from ET NOW.

The panel will focus on the forces of economic change in the global economy, the regulatory uncertainties in these regions, and strategies to facilitate business with emerging geographies. The panelists would also discuss the role of investment, innovation, local partnerships, diaspora, industry and business associations as well as capacity-building programs as means to facilitate business.
