CCI signs MOU worth 50,000 crore with Gujarat Government

In the presence of the Chief Minister Narendra Modi a MOU was signed between the Gujarat Government and the Clinton Climate Initiative on Monday. This MOU was signed by the Chairman of the CCI Shri Ira Magaziner and the Principal Secretary of Energy Shri S Jagdishan.

CCI proposed to set up world's largest solar power plant in Gujarat by investing 50,000 crore. A 3000 MW plant will be set up by CCI that affirms to make Gujarat the solar power hub in India. Four locations have been identified by the state government for this project including the international border with Pakistan.

‘We want Gujarat to become a hub for manufacturing solar equipment. The state government is fully engaged in identifying the land and creating infrastructure for the project', Chief Minister Narendra Modi said.

Ira Magaziner on the occasion said ‘Gujarat is the only state to take this initiative, while many people have just talked about renewal energy.'
