পশ্চিম এশিয়ায় যে যুদ্ধ চলছে এবং তার ফলে যে পরিস্থিতির উদ্ভব হয়েছে, সে বিষয়ে আমরা সকলেই অবগত। এই ভয়াবহ পরিস্থিতিতে সরকারের অবস্থান তুলে ধরতে আমি আজ সংসদের উচ্চকক্ষে তথা দেশবাসীর সামনে উপস্থিত হয়েছি। পশ্চিম এশিয়ায় এই যুদ্ধ তিন সপ্তাহেরও বেশি সময় ধরে চলছে। এই যুদ্ধ বিশ্বজুড়ে এক গুরুতর জ্বালানি সংকট তৈরি করেছে। এই পরিস্থিতি ভারতের জন্যও উদ্বেগজনক। এই যুদ্ধ আমাদের বাণিজ্য পথগুলোকে প্রভাবিত করছে। পেট্রোল, ডিজেল, গ্যাস এবং সারের মতো নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় পণ্যের নিয়মিত সরবরাহ আজ প্রভাবিত। উপসাগরীয় দেশগুলোতে প্রায় ১ কোটি ভারতীয় বসবাস করেন এবং কাজ করেন। তাদের জীবন ও জীবিকার নিরাপত্তার বিষয়টি ভারতের জন্য গভীর উদ্বেগের বিষয়। বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে আসা বহু জাহাজ হরমুজ প্রণালীতে আটকা পড়েছে, এই জাহাজগুলিতে প্রচুর ভারতীয় নাবিক রয়েছেন। ভারতের জন্য এটিও অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগের। এই ভয়াবহ পরিস্থিতিতে, ভারতীয় সংসদের এই উচ্চকক্ষ থেকে শান্তি ও আলোচনার জন্য ঐক্যবদ্ধ এক ধ্বনি সারা পৃথিবীর কাছে পৌছে দেওয়া অপরিহার্য।
