প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী উত্তর প্রদেশের কানপুরে প্রায় ৪৭,৬০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন ও শিলান্যাস করেছেন। উপস্থিত জনসমূহকে সম্বোধন করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন যে, পহেলগামে সন্ত্রাসবাদী হামলার ফলে ২৪শে এপ্রিল ২০২৫-এ তাঁর কানপুর সফর বাতিল করতে হয়েছিল। তিনি কানপুরের সুপুত্র শ্রী শুভম দ্বিবেদীকে শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি জানান, যিনি এই বর্বর আক্রমের শিকার হয়েছেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন যে তিনি সারা দেশের বোন ও মেয়েদের রাগ এবং মিলিত যন্ত্রণাকে গভীর ভাবে উপলব্ধি করেন। তিনি বলেন যে, অপারেশন সিন্দুরের সময় সারা বিশ্ব এই সামগ্রিক আক্রোশকে দেখেছে। তিনি অপারেশন সিন্দুরের সাফল্যের কথা বিস্তারিত জানিয়ে বলেন, এর মাধ্যমে পাকিস্তানে সন্ত্রাসবাদীদের ঠিকানাগুলি ধ্বংস করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। ফলে পাকিস্তানী সেনা সংঘর্ষ সমাপ্ত করার আর্ত-অনুরোধ জানাতে বাধ্য হয়েছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী দেশের সশস্ত্র সেনাদলগুলির বীরত্বকে সেলাম জানিয়ে জোর দিয়ে বলেন, তিনি স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের ভূমিতে দাঁড়িয়ে সেনার সাহসকে প্রণাম জানাচ্ছেন। তিনি দৃঢ়তার সঙ্গে বলেন, অপারেশন সিন্দুরের সময় দয়ার ভিক্ষা চাওয়া শত্রুদের কোনও ভ্রম নিয়ে থাকা উচিত নয়, কারণ অপারেশন সিন্দুর এখনও শেষ হয়নি। প্রধানমন্ত্রী সন্ত্রাসবাদের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াইয়ে ভারতের তিনটি স্পষ্ট সিদ্ধান্তকে তুলে ধরেন। প্রথমটি, ভারত প্রত্যেক সন্ত্রাসবাদী আক্রমণের যোগ্য জবাব দেবে। এই জবাবের সময় এর পদ্ধতি ও শর্তগুলি সম্পূর্ণভাবে ভারতীয় সশস্ত্র সেনাদলগুলি ঠিক করবে। দ্বিতীয়ত, ভারত এখন পরমাণু বিপদ নিয়ে ভয় পাবে না। আর এরকম কোন সাবধানবাণীর ভিত্তিতে সিদ্ধান্ত নেবে না। তৃতীয়ত, ভারত সন্ত্রাসবাদের মূল ষড়যন্ত্রকারী এবং তাদের আশ্রয়দানকারী সরকারগুলিকেও একই দৃষ্টিতে দেখবে। পাকিস্তানের সরকারি এবং বেসরকারি ষড়যন্ত্রকারীদের মধ্যে কোন পার্থক্য এখন স্বীকার করা হবে না। প্রধানমন্ত্রী স্পষ্টভাবে বলেন যে, শত্রু যেখানেই থাকুক তাকে মেরে ফেলা হবে।
