Award winning NRI delegation calls on Chief Minister

The delegation impressed with CM’s global vision, state’s rapid growth

A delegation of NRIs led by Mr. Sudhir Parikh paid courtesy visit to Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Praising the state’s growth under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister the delegation said that not only Non-Resident Gujaratis (NRG) but other NRIs are also impressed by Gujarat’s development model.

Members of delegation - USA’s Mr. Sudhir Parikh, Abudhabi’s Dr.B.R.Shetti (Karnataka), Canada’s Mr. Firdaus Mehta (Mumbai), Bahrein’s Mr. Soman Babi, Norway’s Mr. Adward Duse, Australia’s Nevil Roy (Bharuch) – are on the visit to Ahmedabad to receive NRI Visionary Award to be given by Vision Foundation.

The delegation during their meet with the Chief Minister showed interest in enquiring about the factors behind Gujarat’s rapid growth in the last decade. The delegation also expressed desire that entire nation gets benefit from the development vision of Mr. Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the passing away of legendary athlete Shri Milkha Singh Ji. Shri Modi has described him as a colossal sportsperson who captured the nation's imagination and had a special place in the hearts of countless Indians.

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, "In the passing away of Shri Milkha Singh Ji, we have lost a colossal sportsperson, who captured the nation’s imagination and had a special place in the hearts of countless Indians. His inspiring personality endeared himself to millions. Anguished by his passing away.

I had spoken to Shri Milkha Singh Ji just a few days ago. Little did I know that it would be our last conversation. Several budding athletes will derive strength from his life journey. My condolences to his family and many admirers all over the world."
