On inaugurating 53rd All India Police Duty Meet, today at Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi appealed to bring qualitative changes in security services.'Indian society has an inner strength to maintain peace and security. Knowing this, security forces should cast strategies to meet future challenges', he said.

The Chief Minister took salute from the parade and said that the meet will help police forces to share experiences and view-points. He suggested organizing women police meet also.

In his address, DGP of State Shri S.S.Khandavawala said that more than 900 police officers are taking part in the police duty meet. It is for the third time that Gujarat is playing as the host of police duty meets, he added.

This time the meet is provided with the online registration, interactive website and Caller tunes on police phones. Highlighting the development works, Shri Khandavawala said that the State Government has spent Rs 1200 crore for establishing 600 police stations and 22000 residences for police staff, during last 10 years.

The State is making Marin Commando Force to guard its 1600 kms. long sea cost.

The meet will last till 9th February. Winners of various competitions held during meet, will be awarded medals and trophy.

Home Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah; Shri Balavantsinh, DGP of Home-Guards Shri R.M.S Brar , Additional DGP(Arms unit) Shri Dipak Swarup along with top police officers were present in the programme.
