Cabinet approves Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects with a financial outlay of Rs.37,500 crore

The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi has approved a Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects with a financial outlay of Rs. 37,500 crore. The scheme strengthens energy security and reduces dependence on imports, while advancing the objectives of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India. It is projected to create around 50,000 jobs across 25 projects in coal-bearing regions.

PM reviews performance of key infrastructure sectors

PM Narendra Modi reviewed progress of key infrastructure sectors including roads, railways, airports, ports, digital, and coal. Significant improvement has been made in host of projects. The Prime Minister directed efficient and stringent monitoring of rural roads construction and their quality. PM Modi directed the use of new technologies in road construction.
