The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, approved a 43.218-km Link/Connector Corridor along the River Varuna in Varanasi. The project will ease congestion, halve travel time between NH-31 and Kashi Railway Station, strengthen multimodal connectivity and boost tourism and economic growth.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has approved a ₹2,642 crore multi-tracking project for the Ministry of Railways, aimed at easing congestion on the Varanasi-Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction route. This project will add 3rd and 4th railway lines, along with a new rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga, enhancing capacity for both passenger and freight traffic. Aligned with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, it will boost regional development, create jobs, and support environmental goals.
