PM Modi participated in the Winter Tourism Program and addressed the gathering at Harsil, Uttarakhand. PM recalled his visit to Baba Kedarnath, where he had declared that, “this decade would be the decade of Uttarakhand”. He congratulated the Uttarakhand government for the innovative effort of Winter Tourism and extended his best wishes. He noted that the recently approved Kedarnath Ropeway Project will reduce the travel time from 8-9 hours to approximately 30 minutes. PM Modi will visit Uttarakhand on 6th March. He will perform pooja and darshan at Maa Ganga’s winter seat in Mukhwa, flag off a trek and bike rally, and address a public gathering in Harsil. The Uttarakhand government’s Winter Tourism programme is boosting religious tourism, local businesses, and homestays, attracting thousands of devotees to the revered winter seats of the Char Dham.
