Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Odisha

PM Modi will visit Odisha to inaugurate multiple development projects worth over ₹60,000 crore in Jharsuguda. These projects span telecommunications, railways, higher education, healthcare, skill development, and rural housing. On the occasion, the PM will also flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Udhna (Surat), connecting states, supporting tourism and creating employment opportunities.

Union Cabinet approves ₹4,200 crore for MERITE Scheme to boost technical education quality & research

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the proposal for implementation of the ‘Multidisciplinary Education and Research Improvement in Technical Education’ (MERITE) Scheme in 275 technical institutions comprising 175 engineering institutions and 100 polytechnics. The objective of the scheme is to improve the quality, equity and governance in technical education covering all States/UTs by implementing interventions aligned with the National Educational Policy-2020 (NEP-2020).
