India - Republic of Korea Joint Statement on Cooperation in the field of Sustainability

India and the Republic of Korea have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation to address global sustainability challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to fulfill the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They expressed confidence that the expanded cooperation outlined in the joint statement will contribute to the development of innovative and scalable solutions that can support sustainable development in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

Joint Strategic Vision for India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership

President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung is on a State Visit to India from 19 – 21 April, 2026. During his visit, he held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Joint Strategic Vision for implementing and adding further momentum to the India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership in the next five years (2026-2030) was also announced.

India-ROK Comprehensive Framework for Partnership in Shipbuilding, Shipping and Maritime Logistics

PM Modi and President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea held productive and in-depth exchange of views on mutually beneficial cooperation in shipbuilding, shipping and maritime logistics. Both sides agreed that India’s maritime ambitions under Maritime Amrit Kaal 2047 Vision have created considerable opportunities for long-term collaboration with the ROK.

During the Joint Press Meet with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, PM Modi launched the India-Korea Digital Bridge to deepen the partnership in AI, semiconductors and IT. The PM highlighted that the India-Korea relationship has become wide-ranging over the past decade. He also remarked that bilateral trade between India and Korea will reach fifty billion dollars by 2030, up from the present twenty-seven billion dollars.
