The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, has approved the Ahmedabad–Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line railway project in Gujarat at an estimated cost of ₹20,667 crore. India’s first semi high-speed rail project, developed with indigenous technology, aims to improve connectivity between Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, the upcoming Dholera Airport and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex while enhancing mobility, logistics efficiency and regional development across the state.
