The Union Cabinet, led by PM Modi, has approved an additional 3% Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners from July 1, 2025. The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective from July 1, 2024. This raises the existing rate to 53% of Basic Pay/Pension, aimed at offsetting inflation. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 1.1.2024 representing an increase of 4% over the existing rate of 46% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate against price rise.
