At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of the Republic of Seychelles Dr. Patrick Herminie is on a State Visit to India. During their meeting on 9 February 2026, PM Modi and President Herminie had comprehensive and productive discussions covering the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. The two leaders reaffirmed Seychelles' role as an important pillar in India's MAHASAGAR Vision and announced a Joint Vision for SESEL.

He announced a Special Economic Package of 175 million dollars for Seychelles and discussed further strengthening ties across multiple sectors. Both sides issued the India–Seychelles Joint Vision, which will serve as a roadmap for cooperation in the coming years.

PM Modi has met Malpes President Muizzu in Male. Both the leaders took stock of the progress in the implementation of the India-Malpes Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’ and also witnessed exchange of 6 MOUs.
