Prime Minister meets the President of Maldives

PM Modi has met Malpes President Muizzu in Male. Both the leaders took stock of the progress in the implementation of the India-Malpes Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’ and also witnessed exchange of 6 MOUs. The PM reiterated India’s commitment to further deepen ties with Malpes in keeping with its Neighbourhood First’ and Vision MAHASAGAR policies.

During the joint press meet with President Muizzu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed that the Malpes holds a central place in India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and MAHASAGAR Vision. He highlighted the shared commitment to deepen commercial and cultural ties and expressed India's continued support for the Malpes in areas like housing, infrastructure, connectivity, defence, digital technology, climate action and renewable energy.
