Prime Minister completes his self enumeration, appeals to citizens to self-enumerate their household details and participate in the Census process

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi completed his self enumeration today, marking the beginning of the first phase of Census 2027, relating to house listing and housing operations. Shri Modi said that this census is the first time data collection is being done through digital means. It also empowers the people of India to self-enumerate their household details.

Cabinet approves scheme of Conduct of Census of India 2027

The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has today approved the proposal for conducting the Census of India 2027 at a cost of ₹11,718.24 crore. About 30 lakh field functionaries will complete this gigantic exercise of national importance by visiting each and every household. Census-as-a-Service (CaaS) will deliver data to ministries in a clean, machine-readable, and actionable format.
