During PM Modi’s State Visit to the Malpes, India extended a ₹4,850 cr Line of Credit, eased loan repayment terms, and launched FTA talks. Key inaugurations included housing units, defence projects, and community initiatives. Eight MoUs were signed, spanning fisheries, digital cooperation, meteorology, UPI integration, and health.

PM Modi has met Malpes President Muizzu in Male. Both the leaders took stock of the progress in the implementation of the India-Malpes Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’ and also witnessed exchange of 6 MOUs. The PM reiterated India’s commitment to further deepen ties with Malpes in keeping with its Neighbourhood First’ and Vision MAHASAGAR policies.
