Multifold benefits of increase in Bicyle use
Taking in to account the serious concern of climate change, I would like to give a suggestion to my own Gujarat Government to initiate a mission called ‘Bicycle Promotion’. We see in India, we have a very bad habit of picking ‘Motor cycle’ even for the smallest work at the closest destination. This habit is slowly making us less active and also resulting in increased fuel consumption and more Green house gas emissions in mother nature. Benefits of Bicycle Use:
1.Less pollution due to less fuel consumptions by millions of people every day.
2.Enhanced health of the people and community.
3.Employment generation in bicycle design and manufacturing sector.
4.Less traffic on roads as less people will be seen with motorcycles and cars.
5.Less parking space requirements for bicycles compared to motorcycles and cars.
Lets all join hands and work together to protect our mother nature. Very well said by somebody: ‘If not earth then where. If not now then when. If not we then who.’
Yes Jay, it is a good idea but it will be difficult to enforce. Government cannot make it compulsory. Illiterate people will start protesting. My suggestions: - Increase mass transport facilities. Modi government is doing it well in Ahmedabad and Surat. Very soon, BRTS will be started in these cities and it is expected that traffic problem will be solved. If Ahm. & Surat goes success, this project should be given to Rajkot and Baroda too. - New 4 wheeler and truck, RTO registrations: Only CNG vehicles should be given permit. CNG is made compulsory in Delhi buses.

Its a good idea that can help environment & also relax traffic jam problem.I think it can be started from Gov.officer. This type of idea has been implemented in China gov office already. We can also consider it to reduce Gobal Warning.
