“Our Gujarat, Clean Gujarat”
Neat and clean city is what attracts every body's attention. Every one of us would like to have a city that is clean, neat and beautiful.
If every citizen takes this issue a little more seriously, it will help us to have clean and beautiful state. Simple steps like dumping the garbage in the waste bins will keep our roads and footpath clean. Municipal department should make sure that this waste is disposed properly. Every street in the city should have a waste bin. It should ensure that waste bins are kept near all the small stalls, pan shops and ‘laaries'. The owners should be fined if they don't have waste bins. Public places starting from a park to bus stop should be kept clean. Street cleaning should be on daily basis. Municipal department workers should be provided with equipments like hand blowers and sweeping machines which will save their time.

We have already seen that in some western countries grading of waste is done by keeping separate dust bin for metals, plastic, glass, papers & other degradable wastes. The municipal authorities purchase those dust. One small pass book given to every house hold wherein the value of purchases entered. Payment made at the end of the month.

I appreciate very much the idea of "Neat and Clean City". However, dumping garbage is not the only problem. The Municipal workers dig the roads and road-sides for laying pipes etc. The dug-out soil spreads over the roads and also flies into nearby houses and offices making the environment dusty. It also creates a threat to patients of Asthma and other breathing troubles. This soil should be properly managed so that it doesn't spread. The Municipal authorities should be made responsible to complete the work in-time.

Like compulsory voting suggested by Shri Advaniji, for clean Gujarat, our government need to check and remedy each public places, shops, offices, show rooms, tourist places, rivers and MUCH IMPORTANTLY each HOUSES in stipulated time period in Gujarat with some basic criteria. Not only this, for prevention purpose also we need more trees, there should be dust bins in every 50 feet distance, law to stop people from throwing there wastes/splitting anywhere around. We need advanced machineries like big moving vacuum machine/sweeper to clean daily night time. Wide roads, more trees, building under double storey other than office areas, clean rivers, more parks, dustbin in every 50 feet distance will surely make our Gujarat attractive and number one city in India. Some good example cities/state where we can learn to keep clean Gujarat are Chandigarh, some cities in Tamilnadu etc etc.

Yes I do endorse the idea of having a clean cities and the state in general. The very first impression a tourist gets is this.  I think Gujarat has that potential to provide a clean and beautiful city.
This cleaning drive can be brought to next level by orgenizing it. Also it will give a boost to new industry for manufacturing the garbage bags , bins and other tools.
I am sure that Narendra Modi has that capability to creat a drive and proud of having a cleaner state.

Children should trained up at school under waste management program. I leave in Europe and here children trained up for personal safety, waste management etc. in primary school by drawing and painting activities. I believe in early age people learn easily this small things and follow as routine for whole life.

I do endorse the idea of having a clean cities and the state in general but only problem is how, govt. is doing best they can do but for to make it we as a civilians has to do much more. Problem is everybody likes to talk but no implementations. People are not aware for cleaning there own shit. they like to create a mess but they don't know what will be the outcome for that. Govt. can get the bins, on all street and even to each and every household but then what happens , there will be a change but that is very minor change. Collect a fine is not a solution. Only solution I can see for this problem is awareness programs. When you give new thing to someone then you have to explain how it works, what are the benefits of using it. Just giving out bin bags and installing bins on the street doesn’t work.

The very first impression of a state is the last and lasting impression. The entry points at the cities and towns, like the Railway Station, Bus Depots, Airports need to be impressive and spacious. Round the clock cleanliness and hygiene impresses and brings smile of the faces of visitors. This will enthuse the citizens to do likewise in their own neighborhood.

Well planned washroom and sanitation, garbage disposal facility should be provided for common public so it is approachable and is of use. Non Bio Degradable disposables should be banned including gutkhas. Waste material processing should be institutionalized. All barren earth should be covered under green blanket.

Yes, I agree with Jay Bhatia. But there are no suggestions for punishing the criminals. In western countries, you will be badly fined and even jailed if you throw garbage on road or spit the red pan-masala on road. Look at our roads and corners of government buildings- all full of pan-masala. Suggestion: Anyone caught spitting pan-masala on road should be fined 500 Rs. Police and traffic police should be given the authority to collect fine.
