“Mere good governance is not enough; it has to be pro-people and pro-active. Good governance is putting people at the center of development process.” – Shri Narendra Modi

Shri Narendra Modi has made the government machinery function so proactively that Gujarat has become an icon of change for the World. He advocated the need for ‘pro-people, proactive good governance’ (P2G2) to solve the people’s problems and fulfill their aspirations. P2G2 models have worked in Gujarat because they are pro-people, development-oriented, transparent and open.

The reason behind the success is attributed to stability, policy-driven governance and deliverance. Shri Modi has effectively used the Proactive Governance strategy and many of his projects are examples of good governance due to people oriented programs. He said whenever he makes a decision there is no political consideration. Gujarat’s approach has always been citizen centric, transparent and inclusive.

P2-G2 Vikas :

Gujarat’s pioneering initiatives in areas such as water management,  disaster management, health care, education, women  empowerment, rural development, industrial development, investment promotion have been studied and several of them have been replicated and up-scaled in other states of the country.

In 2009, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was awarded The International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 Certification for Quality Management Systems. CMO demonstrated constant deliverance to the public and effective systems to enhance customer satisfaction.

Focused on infrastructure, industry and social service, Gujarat has proactively been able to usher in an era of dynamic yet sustainable economic growth and inclusive wealth creation in Gujarat. Its strategy has been framed by five core principles. These principles have been revolutionary as they are followed by robust implementation. The Gyan, Jal, Urja, Jan and Raksha Shakti – Panchamrut philosophy has done wonders with its strategy for proactive governance.

Another major proactive governance example is that Gujarat is the only state that empowers people as active partners in development as a mass movement. It also empowers its own Government Employees. Thus, the Government adopts initiatives supplemented by proactive governance through efficient and citizen friendly administrative system.

Some of the P2G2 Innovations of Gujarat Government are :

- Information Technology – eGovernance

- Ecology & Environment

- Karmayogi Abhiyaan

- Second Green Revolution

- Development for deprived – rural Empowerment

  • Chandrakant Varde November 25, 2012 Sir,
We salute the work done by you for Gujarat and our nation. Unfortunately, I think GORWA Area in Vadodara is still waiting for the basic requirements. Please have a look in this area so that we could also be happy here.

I HOPE TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK

    Thanks & Sincere Regards,

    Chandrakant
  • Hitesh Odedra November 10, 2012 Sir , the day is not far when the people of whole india start following your path. That day your wish of brightest and developed india will be fullfilled.

  • Manan Bhatt October 20, 2012 If each and every gujarati votes then day is not far that MR Modi will be replacing the Congress thiefs and create a lovely india crime free corruption free country.
  • Manan Bhatt October 20, 2012 Respected sir,

These days the Ahmadabad city is suffering from the extreme dusty atmosphere.
Mainly the satellite area (Shivranjani). It has become difficult to breath.
There has been very less trees around the residential area.
Over and above with less space there has been highest traffic jam in the Shivranjani cross road.
The roads that connect the satellite area are worst after monsoon season.
After repeated complaints there has been no regularity in the cleanliness and usage of medicines on the road and resident area.
These days I have also come across that Ahmadabad is suffering from more of robbery and theft. According to my calculation since the rapid growth of our Gujarat, day by day outsiders have started residing in our city as a whole discipline and peace has been vanished. Please make a personal note that maximum Gujarati’s are given benefits rather than outsiders. Because of invasion of outside public in Gujarat even the standard of living has become costlier. Some serious laws should be brought else in future Gujarat will not be for Guajarati’s.
I would say please consider my request personally and make it a better environment to live rather than creating more of commercial one.
  • Nimesh Patel September 7, 2012 I want sir you replace manmohan sinh and i pray to god for done it
  • Ravi1P August 12, 2012 I really appreciated you good works in Renewable energy. I heard that, Gujarat Govt announce to used residential and commercial space to setup solar plate. I would like to say, we have lots of school, college and govt building in Gujarat state. Can we used those space to implement solar plate on top of building. Those building are monitoring by under gujarat govt, so we don’t have any leasing problem for next few year(25) and we’ll generating more renewable energy without any distrubtion.
  • Ramesh Desai July 11, 2012 After having worked in a number of states other than Gujarat, I was totally disillusioned with the delivery system of governments. On coming to Gujarat, I was in for a surprize. After many inter-actions much smoother and faster than in other states, the climax was when a police constable at a a police station to which I had gone for verfication in connection with my passport application, asked me for feedback on how I was treated by the police station. That is the height of good service. I got my passport, sitting at my home, on the nineteenth day of my application. If every common man gets this kind of service in every dealing with the government, all of us including the government employees will progress and develop.
