Narendra Modi had quite a modest beginning. He was born into a lower middle class family and he received a rich cultural heritage. Amongst his heroes is Swami Vivekanand whose clarion call to the nation forever will echo in his ears: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”

He is constantly on the move. Right from his boyhood days, patriotism and the spirit of service have been the driving force. In hours of crisis, whether it was the Indo-Pak war or ravaging floods, this young boy did not shirk away from painful toil and always plunged himself deep into relief work and social service. This shows how he refuses to shut himself up into a shell but identifies himself with the people and the causes he chooses to champion. Dynamism could be a synonym for the man who moves masses as he marches forward, taking them all with him.
