Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi today called for the need to showcase the young India's huge youth power to the world.

Speaking on 'Youth power and India's future' at a national lecture series at the Mangalayatan University at Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, he said that India is the worlds' most youthful nation and 40-crore youth are its biggest asset in the 21st century. He asked the youth to dream big and feel proud for inheriting great cultural heritage of India.

Shri Modi said that India has all the qualities to be the global guru in this 21st century of knowledge. There are three reasons to think so. Firstly, India is a storehouse of knowledge. Second, India has the world's largest youth power and they are full of energy and are impatient to change the nation and the world. If properly canalized, India's youth could change the century. Third, India has the capacity to tackle burning topics like global warming through its lifestyle attuned to the Nature, which western materialism in constant conflict with the Nature could not.

He regretted that India continues to reel under the slavery mentality. The Indian youth is keen to come out of the centuries old sickly mentality. Dream to do something, not something, he advised the youth.

Shri Modi said that Gujarat has already taken a lead in providing the nation novel path-breaking initiatives like setting up Universities for Forensic Science, Children, Raksha-Shakti and Teachers' Education.

Shri Modi also faced questions from students on various topics. He asked the youth to shun the Naxal path of violence and try to solve their problems through dialogue within the limits of Constitution. Referring to a question on relation between Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, he said, 'Mathura's Chakradhari settled in Dwarka and 'Porbandar's Charkhadhari Mohan (Gandhi) breathed his last on the banks of Yamuna'.

Mangalayatan University's Dr Achyutanand Mishra, Shri Satishchandra Jain and Shri Pavan Jain described Shri Modi as an ideal political leader for the youth, as noted poet Padmabhushan Gopaldas Niraj urged Shri Modi to let Gujarat lead the nation for a cultural revolution.
