Chief
Minister Shri Narendra Modi performed Shastra Puja on Dussehra on 28th
September at his residence.
The
Director General of Police S.S Khandwawala was present during the puja. The
entire police force offered their prayers to almighty and worshipped their
weapons.
The
annual Shastra Puja was performed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Shri KLN
Rao. The puja is performed by following the ritual of cleaning weapons and
worshipping firearms.
The cultural origin behind the Shastra Puja is
that of worshipping weapons and praying for victory on the auspicious day of
Vijayadashami. This puja was performed by Kshatriyas in ancient times who
prayed to the almighty for the betterment of the bearer.
